Rock, Paper, Scissors,
We'd say
And then came the verdict

Rock crushes Scissors
Scissors cuts Paper
Paper covers Rock

Every time, it seems, I lose
I can never win her over.
People call me beautiful
With skin the color of paper and ink black hair,
just waiting to be mixed and form words
but she simply looks, uninterested
and with a couple cruel words,
shatters me,
Her stone heart breaking my parchment skin
Disproving the rules of our game,
As stone rips through paper.

He should've been the one with power over me
His silver tongue could cut through people
as easily as a scalpel, taking out the pieces he wanted.
But he could never really cut me
Inlaid underneath my parchment skin, I was gifted with steel sinew and bone
He never saw what was underneath, and the scalpel broke instead of breaking
My paper breaks his scissors.

I watched as his words sliced right through her stone heart
efficiently, but as clumsy as a first time dissection experiment.
Unnecessary cuts everywhere.
The uncanny strength that made her untouchable
sliced to pieces, and she fell into his arms
In the perfect example of Scissors cuts Rock.'

This is why I don't like childhood games,
The rules always change.
This is in process, being edited by me. Thanks for the feedback.
